Ice Cream Party

at Richards Cloughmills Co. Antrim

Vanilla Flavour !!!

"The scene goes something like this…

A summer's evening,

a quiet village,

a house of themed activity,

rooms filled with the buzz of conversation,

a flow of laughter,

garden lanterns gently blowing in the cool evening breeze,

music dancing through the disco divas,

flashing lights weaving their way around the walls,

pockets of banter and craic bouncing to and fro,

themed trivia questions were pondered,

teams humorously debating answers,

the theme was even being tasted and indulged,

plenteous food stacked party revellers plates,

the criac was endless,

yet the evening theme had to close,

the theme was truly enjoyed by all,

the theme dissolved into the sleepy summer evening,

you may frequent this theme over your summer adventures,

and just so you know the most popular theme flavour of all, is quite ordinarily… vanilla!"

On a hot Summer's night..................at the end of May 08, the Ladies and Gents arrived at Corrs Corner resplendent in their finery.

The dininng room was looking magnificent and the party atmosphere enhanced thanks to the specialist touches of balloons and table favours arranged by Richard and Rosemary.

It was very noticeable that there were less in attendance than last year,  Andrew Sherrard deputised as Chairperson as Jean Corrigan was away on Missionary work overseas, and after formalities the evening got off to a great start. With everyone seated comfortably and renewing or making new aquaintances at their tables the evening flew by as we tucked into the culinary delights.

After the meal and chat it was time to give the knives and forks a rest and relocate to the ajoining room. With the excellent music provided by DJ Richard Bradley, who could resist but get on the dance floor and strutt their stuff. An array of dancing and fancy footwork were displayed by those keen to work off their food indulgance whilst others relaxed in the comfortable sorroundings.

A great night was had by all who attended as confirmed ........even by the lady who had a wardrobe malfunction on the night!!

A good night at Joseph was had by all with a lively performance and great singing and dancing.  We were not so sure about Elvis and the Paris scene in the middle of it but all in all it was a good performance.  Afterwards we headed to the Piano Lounge on the first floor of the Europa. We were lucky to get a great table by the window and had teas and shortbread and plenty of craic!
